A consumer checklist for a sustainable transport system

Published on 16.11.2020

About this publication

The green mobility choice is currently not always the easy choice. BEUC sees consumers locked into a system that fundamentally depends on fossil fuels. This can be changed: from convenient charging of electric cars, to better cross-border rail connections, and more space for cycling and walking in our cities.

In this checklist, BEUC recommends ten consumer policy levers for cleaning up Europe's mobility system and make it more available, affordable, and attractive. This is a an abridged version of our paper “Breaking out of fossil-fuelled mobility” which may be consulted for in-depth policy recommendations.
