MEMBER NEWS - 07.06.2017

In recent years, the Norwegian Consumer Council has looked into a range of worries that consumers of digital products have, ranging from how mobile apps can track users even when the app is not in use to how internet-connected toys can be used to eavesdrop on consumers in their homes.

After their successful #toyfail and #appfail campaigns, the Norwegian Consumer Council is now ready to take up a new challenge.

The Council has invited consumer professionals, politicians and citizens to help them identify which connected objects and services they should scrutinise next. Anyone can add their ideas to this website.

More specifically, the Norwegian Consumer Council wants to look at popular products which are available to European consumers and highlight important issues for consumers of digital services. Examples include privacy, security, ownership of purchased services and durability.

So, what do you think, do you have the next big idea which will inspire the Norwegian Consumer Council to improve consumers’ lives? If so, then click here.
