BEUC to host event at EU Sustainable Energy Week in September 2022

There are many barriers facing both consumers and industry in the shift towards renewable energy. It’s a multi-faceted problem, including the lack of access to information for consumers, affordability, the availability of a skilled workforce and supply chain issues.

That’s why BEUC partnered with other organisations working in the energy sector and is organising a conference session at the 2022 EU Sustainable Energy Week (29 September) to discuss these barriers, find concrete solutions and identify where further EU action is needed.

The expert panel will discuss how investments in self-consumption can shield consumers from volatility in energy markets, and how to ensure Europe’s energy security in light of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The session – entitled ‘Achieving energy independence and the green transition: REPowering consumers' will feed into the political debate on the Fit for 55 package, the Solar Strategy and the European Commission’s REPowerEU package.

It will also be an opportunity to learn more about the BEUC-coordinated CLEAR-X project, which aims to address exactly these barriers consumers are facing in the energy transition. So, join us on 29 September!
