What do consumers expect from the digital euro?

The European Central Bank and EU policymakers are designing the digital euro, a new form of money that will complement cash. But what do consumers really want from a new digital payment option? And how can the digital euro respond to those needs?

To answer these questions BEUC, Euroconsumers and ICRT carried out a 10-country survey to better understand the drivers and obstacles to using digital payments. The survey also addressed differences across generations, including a dedicated section on young consumers, who are among the most digitalised and likely to be early adopters of the digital euro.

In this webinar, BEUC will present the survey results and bring together high-level speakers to discuss what consumers want and how these preferences can be incorporated in the digital euro.
