Improving enforcement cooperation - BEUC response to the consultation on the review of Consumer Protection Cooperation (CPC) Regulation

The review of Consumer Protection Cooperation (CPC) Regulation is an important tool to improve enforcement across the EU. It seems that the full potential of enforcement cooperation both within Member States, and among them, has not been achieved until now.

We suggest strengthening enforcement cooperation in the EU, especially with regard to EU-level infringements, where the same trader targets consumers in many Member States with the same practice. National responses to such infringements are often incoherent, so special procedures could be beneficial.
