Smart, flexible electricity tariffs and services - an opportunity for EU households?

BEUC NEWS - 24.01.2018

The way we consume electricity might be about to change. Offers involving dynamic pricing and third-party companies adjusting household consumption according to prices are already hitting the market. Will consumers benefit or just lose control? Will EU rules be forward-looking or become obsolete as these changes take place?

We are organising a lunch event to debate these issues, as the Clean Energy for all Europeans package moves through the Parliament and Member States towards becoming EU law. Our debate will include interventions from consumer groups, industry representatives and policy-makers as negotiations to reform the EU’s electricity markets reach their critical point.

When – 30 January 2018, 12:00-13:30
Where – European Parliament, Members’ Restaurant
What – lunch debate moderated by Geoff Meade
Hashtag – #CleanEnergyEU
