BEUC shares consumer take on future of automotive industry
BEUC shared the consumer perspective on the future of the automotive industry at a so-called ‘Strategic Dialogue’ convened by European Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen.
In attendance, BEUC’s Director General Agustín Reyna presented the results of our latest study – showing the financial benefits of electric vehicles (EVs) for consumers – and made some concrete proposals to help further improve their financial attractiveness.
These include:
- Improve the consumer experience at public charging stations;
- Accelerate the supply of electric vehicles on the second-hand market, where it matters the most;
- Give consumer better information about EVs and increase their trust in this technology.
These very concrete proposals will help both consumers and accelerate the take-up of a technology that is already increasingly popular.
As President von der Leyen herself said earlier in the week at the State of the Union address: the future is electric!
