Air Passengers’ Rights Regulation 261/04 - BEUC on the revision of air passengers' rights in the event of denied boarding, cancellation and long delays

The revision of the Air Passenger Rights Regulation's proposal constitutes a number of improvements but reduces a few important rights especially: 

• Compensation after a 3-hour delay or more;
• Assistance in case of extraordinary circumstances.

The proposal also misses:  

• A full ban of “no-show” clauses;
• Quick right to re-routing by other means of transport;
• A clear definition of extraordinary circumstances;
• Clear hand-luggage allowance.
