Tin cans containing Bisphenol A, toys with phthalates, hair dyes with resorcinol…in their daily lives, consumers are exposed to a cocktail of chemicals.

The EU’s REACH legislation deals with the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals. Nevertheless, this law and other rules contain flaws which result in consumers being exposed to hazardous substances.

More stringent measures to limit exposure and tackle the risks posed by ‘Substances of Very High Concern’, including endocrine disruptors, are urgently needed.
